Grading the Padsite

Over the weekend we borrowed Keith's skid steer to start grading the pad site for the house.
We got about a days worth done in two days. There were problems with hydraulic hoses getting holes in them. So it took a good afternoon and evening and the next morning before we were good to go again.

We burned the pile of brush from clearing the yard and house site.
It was crazy how fast it burned own.

Discovering that we had a problem.

Staring the process of taking things apart.

 It was quite the process.

Trailer Trash

We have been officially dubbed "trailer trash" by some of the locals. :)
It has been a very easy transition. I'm enjoying being close to everybody here in Luther.
So far Denise, Jenny and Melanie have been so kind to let me use their laundry rooms!
Sara and I have been out walking together a few times.
We went swimming last week, which I'm sure there will be lots more of that!
Most days are very quite and relaxing.
Home Sweet Home
The meeting hall parking lot is back behind the trailer.
Stephen and Sara are four RV sites to the left of us.

This view is from the front looking towards the back.
There is a closet to the left of the fridge that has a place for hanging and storage shelves where Weldon stores all his clothes. On the opposite side of the trailer from the closet are bunks beds. And straight ahead is the bathroom.

From the back towards the front.
The bedroom has a walk around bed, which makes it nice for making the bed. There are nightstands on each side with drawers and recepticals (perfect for phone chargers.) And there are hanging wardrobes above each nightstand. I'm able to store all my clothes in the bedroom.

The bunks at the back.
The bunks make for very nice storage. The laundry basket fits perfectly on the top bunk for dirty laundry. And the nifty curtains hide all the junk!

Closing on the House

On Friday, May 25th at four o'clock in the afternoon we signed our life away! :)
It was a very strange feeling. We were able to meet the buyers. A younger couple who works at UCO. They were very excited about buying the house. And had their car loaded with stuff to move into the house after the closing. We were very thankful that everything went smoothly. Now on to the next thing!

If you look back at the pictures of the yard sale you can get a glimpse of our trailer that we now call home! There is more to come on that, and pictures to go with it.

Starting the Move

On the open weekend that we had in all our goings on, Terrell and Caden stayed Friday night with us and halped us load up all our furniture and boxes that had already been packed. They were great help.
Terrell impressed me by helping Weldon load the piano! I could barely lift in place when he could lift and carry it out the door!:) Our house felt very bare after everything was out.

It very sad to be moving, but we're very much looking forward to the future!

Yard Sale

Well, as part of our moving out we had a yard sale. We were able to get rid of all the furniture that weren't planing on using in the new house! And I had about a half a box of mics. items left over. So it was very much worth it. Plus, Sara and Denise sold a tremendous amount.
Here are a few pictures that I took to document the last yard sale at our house! :( It was the perfect location for one.
This is the first morning.

By late afternoon you could tell that we had sold quite a bit.

Nittie was the cashier for most of the time.

Terrell and Caden were good salesmen! :)

Before and After...

Here is a little before and after of the roof job. I took the "after" picture during the yard sale that we had the weekend before we moved.
Before
After
The guy we bought the roofing supplies from came by our yard sale and complimented on the roofing job. He was impressed that we had done ourselves!

The Place We'll Call Home

The place that we bought in Arcadia was an abandoned home site. There were two mobile homes that had been partially stripped. And a cinder ...
